It’s A Dirty Job… But Somebody’s Gotta’ Do It!

These are cut snipits from the old galvanized pipes which the cold water was running through. Something from the tap, anyone?!  Ew.  Not so pretty.  Not so yum-yum.

I’ve learned a lot about plumbing the past several weeks.  More than the average woman on the street may want to know, no doubt.  When the pipes of my home required replacing I coordinated a start plan with Rick Poteet of Poteet Plumbing.  Rick and his company came so highly recommended I didn’t hesitate to book them for my gig.  I was reaquainted with my buddies Darrell and Ben from Poteet Plumbing in Fort Worth who provided the estimate for the work. Darrell and Ben have been the upbeat, steady, kind, and imformative workers replacing the galvanized pipes under my home with copper.  Leading themselves underground through the hole in my closet and manouvering in a space about 2′ high, they’ve professionally, diligently, and downright merrily replaced the cold water pipes under my 1950’s home. The last step is happening today… insulating the new pipes and a visit from the City’s code enforcement to review their good work.   For an inconvenient experience the guys from Poteet have been my sweet relief!

‘Round Here

These are images from my surroundings… lots of things that have stories… things that I love… things people have given me or made for me… like my talented, beautiful mother.  These images are compiled from photos taken around my little ‘craft cabin’… which is what I call my home… or… in the beginning it was my ‘healing house’ - before I knew I was an artist. I can’t believe I’ve been here almost 9 years, post-divorce. Astonishing; but… hand to God, I go to sleep and wake up every day full of gratitude and awe over the fullness of my years, the reach of my experiences, and - yes - even my silly little things.
