You know you’re among the lucky if you find yourself, like I did tonight, sitting in a concert with great seats, alongside three people I’ve known for, on the short end 25 years, our cheeks puffed from laughter, and onstage Randy Travis is singing ”Heroes and Friends” .  As the song unfolded we reach for each other’s shoulders to affirm the moment.  I hope you have these cool friends… the kind that you can start stories in the middle without having to explain much, and shared experiences too many to mention, able to keep conversation light and brisk -but full of meaning.  As our lyrics were sung “Your heroes will help you find good in yourself… your friends won’t forsake you for somebody else. They’ll both stand beside you thru thick and thru thin… and that’s how it goes with heroes and friends”…  When it comes to old friends, there’s an extra richness in catching the gaze of these eyes you truly know; and, there’s a certainty in the connection that’s rich, full, and sincerely blessed! One of the newly released Randy Travis songs we all truly loved was “Raise Him Up” ! It’s one of those with lyrics that are powerful and gentle too.  And, my personal old school Randy Travis fave is “Look Heart No Hands”.  Check these Travis tunes out and then let us know your other personal favorites too from the last 25 years!!
